DESIGN WEEK PANEL DISCUSSION
Making It Naturally: the New Design Entrepreneurs

MON OCT 6 | 7pm | OCAC Campus | Centrum Studio

Comprised of West Coast artists/designers/makers, employing a hybrid of artisan-care, environmental sensitivity and local manufacturing our panelists embrace the challenges of creating low-impact goods as they explore and master the frontier of sustainability. These entrepreneurs insist on the most premium and transparent methods of making, analogous to the paradigm shift from fast to slow food. The group will discuss the complexities of fiber farming, natural dye processes, domestic supply chains and natural fiber wearables and fashion.

Panelists:

Bobby Bonaparte — Older Brother, designer/maker
Max Kingery — Older Brother, designer/maker
Kathy Hattori — Botanical Colors, president
Jason Rens — SU PE RM AK ER, founder
Lydia Wendt — California Cloth Foundry, design and development/founder
Moderator: Kristin Valente — Ernst & Young, Partner/OCAC Board Member

Free and open to the public.
