I often think that “people” are too much domesticated in their / our quotidian lives. Making some kind of (art) work allows me to have a safe and peculiar territory of genuine inner freedom, where you can feel whatever you want without censure, where everything can be said. It keeps you “alive” (lucid?) and emotionally structured. As Lucian Freud says, “The process of creation becomes necessary to the painter perhaps more than is the picture. The process in fact is habit-forming” (17)

Hey thanks again for the nomination!
How true!
Thanks for the comment, Nadia. I’m glad you enjoyed the quote. Best!
Indeed.
Thanks, FileSpnR!
I love you for using the word “quotidian.”
One of my favorite words …… well, this week anyway. But just to be clear: I didn’t write the text, it is an excerpt from a magazine.
That’s art. When creating from within the heart, new worlds are created and this world is inspired to go towards evolving spirit without any attachments.
Nicely put, Atza. Thanks!
What a perfect just what we needed post! Thanks!
I’m glad you enjoyed the quote, Katy. Thanks!
Creation indeed does keep one going. Great post!
Thanks, Michelle!
Hello..I am not familiar with the paintings of Lucian Freud. I intend to remedy that. I do think it of interest that any thinking, mature artist should have understanding of self..if art work is good the artist knows it..one must know themselves in any endeavor. Peace Tony
Excellent point, Tony. Also, be sure to check out Lucian Freud’s work. You will not be disappointed!
Freud certainly lived by that. There are two ( at least) on this though.
Live wild, work free.
Or
Live conventionally so your work can range freely.
I love this: “live wild, work free. or Live conventionally so your work can range freely” !!! That just made my day!
